Setting out the board

So, I’m working on a new game. This time it’s a joint exercise, and it’s actually really nice to work with someone at the mechanics stage. Mill, who I have known for about 25 years, is a brilliant person to bounce ideas off — although it’s possible that I’m the sounding board and she’s the creator of ideas!

At the moment we have a rough board and an idea. As mentioned in an earlier post, the idea is that players move through a (presumably closed?) library, fighting monsters and breaking through barriers with the help of characters from the books around them.

What happens next? Well, it’s become pretty clear that a lot of this game relies on who those characters are and what skills they bring with them. So, some rather large spreadsheets are in the process of being created…
