Well, we’re in the process of creating Trapped in the Library, and at this stage the prototype is simply pieces of card without pictures. But, at some point there WILL be pictures! The question is, what sort of pictures?

Usually a game has one consistent art style throughout. But this game features different characters from well known books. Players will come with expectations of what Elizabeth Bennet looks like…and that’s not going to be the same style as Pippi Longstocking.

So, how do we square this circle? There will be categories — Children’s Fiction, Well Known Fiction, Historical Leaders, Science, Myths & Legends, and Amazing Lives. Perhaps the answer is to have a different style for each category. Cartoons for the Children’s Fiction, art deco line drawings for Well Known Fiction?
