We’d like to do something with children’s game design. But we’re not yet sure what.
One possibility is working with schools to design games. Last year I worked with Year 5 (children who are 9 or 10 years old) of Oxford Road Community School. Together we designed and produced Busy Buses. However, it’s hard to run more than one project at a time.
Another possibility is a game design competition for children. Perhaps it could run over the summer holidays? In order to make this work, we would need enough participants, some judges, and a lot of advertising or promotion via word of mouth. We might also want to produce some sort of guidance – either videos or downloadable PDFs.
Or we could do something completely different…
